Building a Face Recognition AI — Live

Date: 11th September 2026

Time: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM IST

From a Pretrained Model to a Personalized AI Application

What does it actually mean to take a pretrained AI model and turn it into a working application?

In this live session, we will build a simple **face recognition AI application from start to finish**.

We will begin with pretrained computer-vision and face-recognition models and see what they can already do. The system may detect faces and understand parts of an image, but it will not initially know the people we want it to recognize.

Then we will add a small set of photographs of a person and personalize the application so it can begin recognizing that person in new images.

We will test it with:

We will then extend the same application by enrolling additional identities and see how the AI decides between:

Recognized Person vs Unknown Person

Along the way, we will make concepts such as **pretrained models, face detection, embeddings, similarity scores, thresholds, training data, false positives, false negatives and model evaluation** much easier to understand.

The focus is not on becoming a computer-vision developer.

The goal is to visually understand how we move from:

Foundation Model → Additional Data → Personalization → Testing → AI Application

If you are a Project Manager, Product Manager, Business Analyst or professional building AI literacy, this session will give you a practical view of what really happens when an AI solution is developed.
