How do I earn the Certified Scrum Professional® – Scrum Master (CSP®-SM) online training certification?

To earn Certified Scrum Professional® – Scrum Master (CSP®-SM), you first must have an active A-CSM® certification with Scrum Alliance®. With your A-CSM®, you should demonstrate at least two-year work experiences specific to the role of Scrum Master within the past five years.

You can log in to your Scrum Alliance dashboard and update your Scrum Alliance profile to demonstrate the experience

After CSM®, your next step is to complete A-CSM® and after that apply for CSP®-SM certification.

Through the CSP®-SM, you’ll learn how to:

 

  • Build a Coaching Agreement with individuals and the team
  • Recognize Models for improving team dynamics and effectiveness
  • Use the visual facilitation techniques for a collaborative session
  • Explain the importance of fundamental coaching assumptions
  • Prepare the launch of multiple Scrum Teams

Prerequisite for getting CSP®-SM Certification:

 

  • A-CSM® professionals
  • Scrum Masters who have at least two years of experience
  • Agile Coaches with at least two years of experience

Steps for getting CSP®-SM Certification:

 

  • Attend Certified Scrum Professional® – Scrum Master (CSP®-SM) Workshop by a Scrum Alliance-approved CST.
  • Complete the pre and post-assignments given by the trainer.
  • Validate your experience on the Scrum Alliance portal.
  • Claim your CSP®-SM Certification.

You need to record your experience in your Scrum Alliance profile in order to claim the CSP®-SM Certification. There is no additional verification required.

Like A-CSM® certification Scrum Alliance does not conduct an official exam for CSP®-SM. Your Certified Scrum Trainer will offer you some assignments which you need to complete in order to earn the CSP®-SM certificate.

If you are a Certified Scrum Master® (CSM®), then the next step in your Agile journey is to achieve your Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM®) certification. For that, you must validate at least 12 months of work experience specific to the role of Scrum Master (within the past five years). However, after A-CSM, you can still elevate your career further by earning the Certified Scrum Professional®-Scrum Master (CSP®-SM) certification. And for that, you must have at least 24 months of work experience specific to the role of Scrum Master (from within the past five years).
