Can one do KMP2 without doing KMP1?

Kanban System Design( KSD or KMP1) and Kanban Systems Improvement (KSI or KMP2) refer to the two levels of the Kanban Management Professional (KMP) certification offered by Kanban University. The KMP1 certification is intended to provide a foundation in kanban principles and practices, while the KMP2 certification builds on that foundation with more advanced concepts and techniques.

To be eligible for the Kanban Management Professional (KMP) certification, one must complete Kanban System Design (KSD or KMP1) and Kanban Systems Improvement (KSI or KMP2). One can do KMP 2 directly, but it is strongly recommended to do KMP 1 first. There are many concepts in the Kanban System Design (KSD / KMP1) course, such as STATIK, work item type, and classes of service, that students need to understand well to take full advantage of Kanban Systems Improvement (KSI / KMP2).
