Do you want to kick-start or enhance your career as an Agile Coach?
Do you wish to lead your team towards high performance but often get stuck in individual resistance or team dysfunctions?
Do you want to learn and practice agile coaching skills that will help you transition agile teams to better collaboration and superior business results?
What is Agile coaching?
Coaching is often a misunderstood word –it is different from teaching, consulting or mentoring. Coaching creates an environment for the individual and team to grow, an environment of trust, respect and healthy collaboration.
Who needs an Agile Coach?
Agile teams are expected to be self-organized, collaborate with their customer, respond to change in an effective manner, build high quality products and – of course – deliver early and often. But, this is easier said than done. To begin with, Agile teams need an environment go grow – an environment of trust, respect and mutual interest. This is usually where the typical ‘command and control’ type of traditional project management fails to deliver. What the team needs is an Agile Coach who mentors and coaches different Agile roles or a Scrum Master who has acquired the required coaching skills.
The Indian IT industry is slowly realizing the value and need of coaching skills and, as a result, the demand of Agile Coaches is growing fast. Besides a possible need of technical or business expertise, Agile Coaches are expected to possess a unique set of behavior skills like self-awareness and self-management, perspective taking, active listening, powerful questioning, facilitation, etc. After all, coaching is less about delivering results and more about building capability for self-learning and self-growth.
