Facebook Groups

Facebook groups offer a way to interact with a community of people and discuss the latest queries, thoughts, and updates around what is happening. Individual groups make it easy to connect with specific sets of people, like people with same goals and objectives. We have three groups with more than 5000 users. These groups are for PMI certification aspirants-

  1. PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) Prep Study Group
  2. PMI-ACPStudy Group
  3. PMP study groupStudy Group

I here wish to publicly thank Seema Sonkiya and Saket Bansal for their support and their training. Here some of my learnt lessons:
a) Most questions were situational and you needed to show your understanding of the best move to perform: wording may be slightly different from PMBoK or Practice Guide, so it is not worthwhile learning by heart.
b) To me it was sufficient to follow iZenbridge training course and video and study on the Practice Guide (as a PMP, I skipped looking at the PMBoK Guide again). I bought another couple of books that eventually proved not so useful.
c) You should very well understand the role and responsibility of a BA, in order to provide with the right answer. Most of the time, I had to choose between two possible right responses.
d) An additional problem is the lack of language aid, which implies your very deep knowledge of English
I agree that following Seema and Saket suggestions will guarantee positive results.
In my case, It took me a long time before deciding to pass the exam, because I wanted to reasonably be sure to succeed. And so did I. I must say, anyway, that it was a bit harder than expected: just a few questions with prompt easy reply, for the rest you select what appears to be the best choice.

Thank you all again and good luck everybody!
Stefano Orfe

The new PMI® standard for Business Analysis is going to be published shortly: a draft for revision and comments is now available on the PMI® website to all members. All PMI® standards follow a bottom-up approach, since they are the results of an elaboration of volunteering contributors from all over the world. This is a guarantee of independence and quality. I believe that the definition of this new standard will provide a great push towards the acquisition of the PMI-PBA® credential to many candidate professionals. Just like the PMBoK® Guide, this standard is structured in process groups and knowledge areas, thus offering a clear vision of the best practices in the BA field, as well as of the whole knowledge and capabilities a professional in BA is requested to have. Probably, this standard will also provide a useful guide to all those Project Managers who care much for an accurate definition of the project scope, whose lack is one of the major causes for project failure. ...
